Description
I found this climbing up the wall of my shower yesterday. I tried to capture it alive, but accidentally killed it. It's a little curled up and a couple legs came of when I tried to spread it out more. I do have small children so I would like to know if I need to worry. Thanks.

Tom is the expert...but my opinion is no it is not. The markings do not appear to be a fiddle and there are too many spines on the legs. Tough to tell with the picture, though...I suggest you put some traps down for a few days and see what you catch.

Hello Deb,

The spider in that picture is definitely not a Brown Recluse. Brown Recluses do not have markings and large hairs on their legs.
