I was bitten by a recluse spider a year to date and was given antibiotics and bite looked as tho it healed. In Nov 2009 ;my bite reappeared. The doctors here didn't understand why. This has been a nightmare for me. I have been diagnosed with 4 rare diseases on top of this. They say that the bite returned due to the disease called lymphedema which I have been diagnosed with. My bite has not yet healed and I have 5 places on my legs that are now open wounds due to this bite. Doctors have given me 4 different antibiotics and still no success. I have ordered the kit from this site and am glad to have found you. This has been a real nightmare for me and my family. Than for being here.

It is not that unusual for a Brown Recluse bite to reappear even after completely healing. It is believed that it is due to pockets of venom underneath the skin. Sometimes the bite wound will reappear in different areas of the body as well. Antibiotics will help keep various areas from getting infected but they do nothing to rid the body of venom.

Keep us posted as to your progress. Meanwhile, RICE therapy (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is generally recommended to help keep the affected areas from getting worse.

I've tried twice to send a post and everytime I try something happens with the website and it takes me out of my post. My post was lengthy. Is this the problem? I believe I was bitten by a brown recluse spider and have just completed 10 days of anti-biotics (Keflex) and Clobetasol ointment (an anti-inflammatory steriod). I'm scheduled to have foot surgery on 9-23-11 but, now that surgery may have to be postponed. I did experience fever, chills, headache, joint pain, nausea and diahrrea the next day after being bitten and until I started treatment with anti-biotics. Everything I have read online and pictures I have seen of brown recluse spider bites (my bite looks just like the pictures). I told my surgeon that I thought I had "flesh-eating disease") the day after the bite because it was the size of a quarter and blistered. The following day I could hardly walk and it was now 3" in length. Any suggestions or confirmations about my diagnosis. I work for a group of dermatologists outside of Boston, MA. The doctor I work for said it was an infected spider bite but, because I didn't have the spider we couldn't determine which type of spider. Please advise. Thanks.
